The greatest innovation of 2016: RGB fans.
  • 3DoubleD - Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - link

But do they support wide-gamut color and HDR? I might hold off until next year...
  • JoeyJoJo123 - Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - link

Nah, even then. I'm not biting until the RGB fans are lit by 10-bit OLEDs, with HDR 2.0 support, and has an HDMI 2.0 port.

In 2017 a PC case will have so many LEDs that it could be a screen, at which point all cases are now All-in-Ones.
  • JoeyJoJo123 - Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - link

In 2018, cases will literally have full-size OLED monitors as sidepanels.
  • ssj4Gogeta - Saturday, September 24, 2016 - link

And a camera inside so the side panels can display the internal components.

Until I can play Crysis on my RGB fans, I'll hold off...... :)

Thanks for my first laugh of the day.

    +100 internet points for you!

Homosexuals all around the globe rejoice.

ddriver - because somehow not everybody already knows you are an d-bag a-hole.

I am sorry I don't speak the trollfart language, you will have to wait until google translate implements it ;)
  • Notmyusualid - Thursday, September 22, 2016 - link

    We are well aware.

    You are a bigoted homophobe.
  • Devo2007 - Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - link

More like RGB lighting period! Keyboards, mice, headsets, motherboards, case lighting, and now case fans.........
  • Magichands8 - Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - link

This looks like it would be great for My Little Pony fans or someone from the LBGT demographic. Just wish the development money went into engineering cases that can actually be opened when you want to clean them.
  • benzosaurus - Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - link

Remember: anyone who's not cishet can't control themselves around brightly colored shiny things. *sigh*

I guess in 2016 we've gotten somewhere. Not very far, but somewhere.
  • benzosaurus - Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - link

It's not just about marriage, people.
  • Lolimaster - Thursday, September 22, 2016 - link

OMG, the ultimate limited edition RGB rig, My Little Pony themed one.
  • mjeffer - Thursday, September 22, 2016 - link

I'm from that demographic and I can say that almost all LGBT people I know would find these rather tacky. But seriously, what are you people (I'm including the previous poster in this remark too) thinking? "Oh pretty colors! The gays will LOVE this!"? Stop buying into the stereotypes that are out there.
  • Magichands8 - Thursday, September 22, 2016 - link

What am I thinking? This is exactly what all the colors in the images above made me think of:

  • Notmyusualid - Thursday, September 22, 2016 - link

The LBGT community holds no trademark on the use of colours, last time I checked.
  • Magichands8 - Friday, September 23, 2016 - link

Maybe not, but they sure love flying their rainbow flags around. And fortunately my brain doesn't need to check for trademarks. umad?
  • Magichands8 - Thursday, September 22, 2016 - link

Now if only they could make the colored rings pulsate as they glow.

Oh and also shoot laser beams.
  • Morawka - Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - link

i like these gradient RGB more than the super bright corsair ones. it matches up with my razer gear well. These two companies need to get together and integrate their API's.
  • GTRagnarok - Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - link

Who needs a Christmas tree when you've got these?
  • Devo2007 - Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - link

Nice that you can control these with software!

The biggest issue I've seen with a few setups (such as the Thermaltake RGB Riing fans) is that several will only let you change colors via a controller that stays inside the PC case. I certainly don't want to be removing my side panels just because I want a different color, or because the fans decided to do their own thing and reset themselves to red upon bootup.
  • Hxx - Thursday, September 22, 2016 - link

I cant help but wonder why they went with a high airflow fan as opposed to static pressure. Do they not want folks to use these on radiators? it seems like such a dumb choice on nzxt's behalf especially since they are pwm and noise will technically not be an issue as long as one controls it via software.
  • BrokenCrayons - Thursday, September 22, 2016 - link

There's nothing like spending $90 to get two 140mm cooling fans (and a stupid LED controller) that you can otherwise purchase without LEDs for $8 each.
  • ShieTar - Thursday, September 22, 2016 - link

Yes, but without LEDs these fans have no lighting capabilities whatsoever. What would you even use them for?
  • xthetenth - Thursday, September 22, 2016 - link

It'd be kind of cool if they let you get hooks into system temperatures and/or fan speeds. Otherwise, okay, what's the point?
  • mitchartz - Wednesday, September 28, 2016 - link

They already hook into system temps (cpu and gpu separately I think), there is also some work into syncing it to music as well as other ways for you to customize them.
  • EndTheFed - Tuesday, November 1, 2016 - link

These make sense for windowed or tempered glass side panel cases. Only wish they were high static pressure fans for radiator use.
